Disability is not the problem but negative attitudes are. Give equality, respect and inclusion, not pity or charity.

Disability is a natural and normal part of human diversity. It is not always genetic but can "hit" anyone at any time - a sudden development of disease in young or old age, an injury or an accident may cause disability.

People with disabilities have the potential to learn; they may just take longer to learn or may learn differently from others.

People with disabilities are people first - "moms and dads; sons and daughters; employees and employers; friends and neighbours; students and teachers; reporters; actors; actors; presidents, and more." (Kathie Snow)

Let's not magnify disability. After all, it is only a medical diagnosis. Disability does not make individuals less human or valuable. People with disabilities are still individuals in their own right.

Disability only means having additional needs, like the need for braces or spectacles.

Disability is not constant and unchanging. Through therapy, assistive technology, medication and accommodations in the environment people with disabilities can live fulfilling lives.
