Inclusive education is about embracing all children in classrooms and adapting teaching methods to their learning styles. Students with disabilities are placed in age-appropriate regular classroom settings with non-disabled peers. These students follow curriculums based on individual needs and abilities. They are supported by special education teachers with expertise in mainstreaming children with disabilities or 1:1 resource aides.
Inclusive education is mutually beneficial. Children developing typically understand individual differences and develop tolerance and sensitivity to the needs of others. Children with disabilities improve their social and communication skills through imitation and play with their peers.
